Care & Support Information

The Mesothelioma Section

THE MESOTHELIOMA SECTION

If you have been exposed to, or think you may have been exposed to asbestos fibres/dust tell your medical practitioner.  This is important, particularly if you have a shortness of breath or a sudden onset of shortness of breath, a persistent cough, ache or swelling in the chest, in the back around the lower shoulder blade area, stomach or groin that cannot be explained by everyday ailments.

If you have been diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma please also go to the Care & Support section and read about  Supportive Care Options, Living The Journey As Carer and Live Your Journey With No Regret.  Also you may be eligible to make a common law legal claim for compensation and may be eligible to register and claim from icare Dust Diseases Care, or other ‘statutory scheme‘ authorities.

This whole section is dedicated to malignant mesothelioma, with an explanation of the various forms of malignant mesothelioma, along with information on diagnosis and finding medical specialists, diagnostic scans, living the mesothelioma journey, treatments, clinical trials and must read guides and booklets on malignant mesothelioma.  Note: Some information may be repeated on different pages and in different sections, this is done on purpose as the pages have been written as ‘stand alone’ pages.  As such not everyone will read every page – but we suggest you do.
