The Bernie Banton Foundation is Australia’s national asbestos and other occupational dust related disease support and awareness organisation. We offer peer-based support, comfort, information and advocacy to mesothelioma asbestos cancer, asbestos disease, and other occupational dust related disease sufferers, their carers and their loved ones, and those bereaved; and awareness, education and advocacy relating to asbestos and other occupational dust related disease issues, Australia wide.
After providing for your family and friends, you may be wondering how to support the foundation with a gift in your Will.
The gift can take the form of:
a specific amount of money
an investment in perpetuity
a percentage of the estate
the residue of the estate
assets such as shares, property, works of art, jewellery
a life insurance or superannuation policy
If you are able to help the foundation through a donation in your Will, you may wish to consult your solicitor, trustee company or the Public Trustee, whoever drafts your Will to insert a simple passage in it, so as to ensure such a bequest eventuates. If you wish to leave a part of your estate or a gift to the foundation, the following passage is recommended for insertion in your Will:
I give …………….. to the Bernie Banton Foundation.
I declare that the receipt of the Secretary, Chief Executive Officer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustee who will not be bound to see its application.
